Alabama 3

Alabama 3 "the best live band in Britain" (The Guardian) will be rocking out to Australia in November with their STRIPPED DOWN Acoustic and Unplugged Tour. As the voices AND WRITERS behind the Sopranos theme song "Woke Up This Morning", the sounds of Alabama 3 will be familiar to many ears.

Hailing from Brixton, the Alabama 3 will be coming in all guns a blazing with their "Sweet Muthafuckin Country Acid House Music". Playing dates in early November the band will perform shows in Byron Bay, Sydney and Melbourne. They will ALSO be filmed as part of the ABC's "Live at the Basement" series

Alabama 3 came together at a party in 1996. Beautifully crafted, moody, lush sound scapes coupled with one inch punch lyrics and haunting harmonies have kept the crew in steady demand ever since. This tour will feature A SMALLER LINEUP AND acoustic stripped down versions of Alabama 3's songs including material from the recently released MOR album. http://www.alabama3.co.uk

The line up IS Larry Love (vocals), Devlin Love (vocals), Rock Freebase
(guitar) and Harpo Strangelove (harmonica).
"The ghost of Mississippi Fred McDowell haunting the fingers of Rock Freebase on guitar, Rob 'Larry' Love's larynx looser than Howlin' Wolf. Devlin Love's vocals as sweet as Sister Rosetta and Harpo Strangelove's harmonica cooking up a Sonny Terry vibe - welcome to the Delta Blues alive and kicking in 2007

Nick Reynolds who is a member of the band is also a renowned death mask artist (http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x34bcv_death-mask-art_music ).
During his time in Australia he will be casting Mark "Chopper" Reid to add to his array of infamous heads. HIS FATHER Bruce Reynolds the mastermind behind " The Great Train Robbery" GAVE HIM ACCESS TO PEOPLE LIKE Ronnie Biggs and most recently John Joe Amador the 402 man to be executed in Texas, http://arts.guardian.co.uk/art/visualart/story/0,,2177971,00.htm

No wonder International best-selling author of Trainspotting, Irvine Welsh, famously said about The Alabama 3, "They are the only band I can dance to without chemical assistance and that's saying something." Australia has something new to dance to!

"Some of the most infectious, well-routed grooves you'll hear all year"
The Independent - M.O.R review - Sept. 2007

"They swing like the devil's own dick. Alabama 3 beat a righteous drum and party like bastards."
Time Out

"If anyone thinks that politics and religion aren't suitable subjects for rock 'n' roll they should check out Alabama 3"
